In the curb chain, the links are twisted so that they lie flat along the surface. The French term “gourmette” refers to that part of the horse’s harness, called in Italian “curb” or “barbozzale”, consisting of a chain placed under the horse’s chin. In English it is called curb chain.

The closure is the most common carabiner, it is equipped with a closed slot to which a connecting ring is attached to connect it to the bracelet.
