The concept of Yin and Yang originates in the ancient Taoisma philosophy and represents the harmony of contradictions. The black side, Yin, refers to the earth, corresponds to feminine energy, passivity and night. While the white side, Yang, is the principle of heaven, masculine energy, activity and the day. The transition from one state to another is fluent. It is a symbol of life force (“Qi”) and spiritual and physical balance.
